Schloss Neusweinstein and Dachau Memorial Concentration Camp

With the International Club we also visited the Schloss Neuswanstein.  This castle belonged to Ludwig II of Bavaria. This is the castle that the Walt Disney Cinderella Castle was modeled after. It was beautiful scenery because the castle is next to a waterfall and the Alps.  It was cloudy the day we went, but we still really enjoyed sights.

Me and Cayle also visited the memorial concentration camp, Dachau.  Dachau was the first concentration camp.  Dachau was the model for all the other concentration camps during the second World War. Dachau was not intended for Jewish people initially, it was intended for German people that went against the Nazis rule.  It was really eye opening to visit a real concentration camp and it really humbled me.

Salzburg!

With the International Club at the Munich University of Applied Sciences we took a trip to Salzburg.  From Munich it is only a 1 1/2 train ride.

Salzburg is very quaint and small and it was such a nice day trip to go there!  We saw some places where the Sound of Music took place and where Mozart was born!  We climbed to the top of a hill where the there was a castle and it gave us a great view of the city!

Berlin!

Me and Cayle (another student in PSE) visited our friend, Cathleen, that we met in Finland, but is from Berlin.  We had so much fun!  She met us at the train station and we stayed with her and her family in their home.  I really felt at home because she was so hospitable!  She gave us the Marco Polo guide books of Berlin and made sure we saw all the main sights!  We also had a famous German food: Currywurst und Pommes (a type of sausage and fries with lots of ketchup and curry seasoning).  After that, curry has become my new favorite seasoning!

The Berliner Fernsehtom

In Germany, the have these donut-like pastries that are filled with jam on the inside.  They call them kraupfens.  And this one is called a Berlina.  There is also a Muncher and an Americana.
